Black Pride Network Values Statement
At Black Pride Network, our values guide our actions, decisions, and aspirations as we work towards fostering a culture of pride, resilience, and equality within the Black, Brown, Indigenous, and Queer People of Color (QPOC), Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Intersex (LGBTQIA+) Pride community.
Black Pride Network Commits to the following values:
Empowerment: We believe in empowering individuals to embrace and celebrate their unique identities. Through advocacy, mentorship, and education, we strive to uplift QPOC voices, promoting self-empowerment and resilience.
Unity: Our commitment to unity transcends borders, connecting the global QPOC communities. We value the strength that arises from solidarity, recognizing that our collective power is amplified when we stand together against discrimination and inequality.
Celebration of Diversity: We celebrate our community's rich tapestry of identities. Embracing diversity means acknowledging and honoring the various intersections of race, gender, sexuality, and more. We aim to create an inclusive space that reflects the beautiful spectrum of human experiences.
Social Justice: We are dedicated to achieving social justice by dismantling systemic barriers and advocating for equity. Through activism, education, and community engagement, we strive to address the root causes of injustice, fostering a world where everyone can live authentically and without fear of discrimination.
Inclusivity: We actively work to create an inclusive community that welcomes individuals of all backgrounds. By recognizing and valuing the unique contributions of each member, we aim to break down barriers, promote understanding, and foster an environment where everyone feels seen, heard, and respected.
Positive Change: Motivated by a commitment to positive change, we challenge harmful norms and stereotypes. By engaging in meaningful dialogue and promoting education, we aspire to inspire transformative shifts in societal attitudes toward the QPOC communities.
Community Engagement: We believe in community engagement as a catalyst for change. Through open dialogue, events, and collaborations, we aim to create spaces where individuals can connect, share experiences, and build supportive networks.
Symbol of Strength: The Black Pride Network symbolizes strength, solidarity, and empowerment for the QPOC community worldwide. We will continue to unite, educate, and engage, fostering a sense of pride and belonging for all and striving for a world where everyone can live authentically and proudly.
We invite those who share our values to join us on this journey. We also encourage non-profit and for-profit organizations, individuals, government entities, and others to unite in combating the systemic racism and oppression affecting our global queer Black and Brown communities.
